38 years in the restaurant industry, has allowed me the opportunity to know all facets of food and beverage. I’m inspired by the opportunity to grow and develop all teams within our clubs, and look forward to making a dramatic impact to the promotion of our future leaders.
Prior experience includes, Regional Director for Landry’s Restaurants, Saltgrass Steak House, for the past 23 years. The Central Texas Region included 9 restaurants that generated over $43 million annually. New store openings included Morton’s Steak House, Chart House, McCormick and Schmick’s Seafood and Steaks, as well as the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino. Training and development of the staff was imperative to the growth of the company. Leadership, Culture and Execution, were the basis of the company’s success. Cost controls, labor controls, service culture, recruitment and retention of employees, as well as administration were practiced daily
Prior to moving to Texas, my experience included, multi-unit operations, training, cost containment, cooking, bartending and catering.
Grew up in Northern New Jersey, and relocated to Texas in 1994. Both parents were born and raised in New York City. I’m the second oldest of 5 children, and have 2 children of my own. Michael, 30 years of age, and Lindsey 28 years of age.
An Arizona native, Paula grew up in Tucson and attended the University of Arizona.
As the Club's Private Event Director, Paula brings over 25 years of hospitality management, service, and sales experience to the Plaza Club. Paula began her career in a private club, working her way up from a server to the General Manager of the Club. Since this time, she has worked in various sales and managerial positions within the hospitality realm. Paula is excited to return to the world of private clubs as she enjoys working with Members and clients to bring their dream events and meetings to life.
Paula has been married to her husband John for 20 years, and together they have two wonderful sons, Matthew and Andrew. In her spare time, Paula enjoys cooking delicious meals and reading intriguing novels. Being relatively new to San Antonio, she also looks forward to exploring the city with her family.
From an early age, Matt took an interest in cooking. That passion led him to Le Cordon Bleu in Austin, Texas, where he graduated top of his class. Most recent, Matt was the Executive Sous Chef at the Baylor Club, one of ClubCorp's most successful clubs.
His hard work and dedication did not go unnoticed at the Baylor Club and ultimately provided him with the knowledge and experience to take the helm as the Plaza Club's Executive Chef.
Melani, born and raised in San Antonio, has been assisting Plaza Club members with all of their accounting needs since 2008. When she is not busy here assisting members at the Club, she is at home with her husband and four children, who like to keep her on her toes.
She is always happy to help members with any needs or questions they have on their accounts.
As an experienced leader in the hospitality sales industry, Brett brings a wealth of knowledge in sales and guest services to his role as Membership Director. Prior to this position, Brett held positions with Marriott and Hilton. Most recently he was responsible for managing room night sales, meetings and corporate functions for Hilton Palacio del Rio's 485 rooms and 27,000 square feet of event space in downtown San Antonio.
Brett was born in Pennsylvania and moved with his parents and two brothers to Kansas City when he was 5 years old where he was raised before relocating to San Antonio in 2014. He and his wife, Ashley have two daughters, Juliet 2, Olivia 4 and an English Bulldog named Lola.
Marisa is a proud San Antonio Native that has spent over 25 years serving as a Marine Corps Spouse and mother of two boys. She has been stationed in various locations across the nation and has obtained several career fields such as; 10 years as a dental assistant, 3 years in a Law Office and 2 years with the Marine Corps Base lodging and hospitality office. After her two sons decided to serve in the United States Air Force and the Marine Corps she wanted to rejoin the work force and took the position as the front desk receptionist. A year later she was promoted to Member Relations Director were she enjoys supporting the BNG team and meeting the needs of our members.
